The Deighton Dossier was created by me, Rob Mallows.

I've been a fan of Len Deighton's stories since I received for Christmas a Game, Set & Match box set. Up to then, I'd never heard of Deighton or his books. Since then, I've been hooked and have read all his works.

Over the past two decades, understandably Len Deighton's profile in the UK and globally diminished as he enjoyed retirement. His reluctance to speak to the media in recent years contributed to this, although his 80th birthday in 2009 and the reissuing of all his novels that year did highlight his place in the UK's literary pantheon. His passing in 2026 reminded readers of his contribution to British spy fiction and literature more generally.

In comparison with the huge number of Ian Fleming and John Le Carré sites, there was not - until this site came into being - a usable online resource for fans of Deighton's work. That's why the Deighton Dossier exists. The site has grown over time and is now, largely, complete, so it serves as a digital archive, a one-stop-shop for all things Deighton, complemented by the separate Deighton Dossier Blog hosted elsewhere.
